"Two Kinds" Mother & Daughter Conflict

In the story "Two Kinds" there is a conflict between a mother and a daughter. The mother is trying to lead her daughter into the right direction by becoming a prodigy while the daughter feels as if she is being forced to do these things. If I had to choose a side I would side with the daughter because I would be very upset with my mother if she had done this to me also. Every young person has the right to decide want they want to be or what they want to do in life and this is why I choose to side with Jing-Mei.

"Two Kinds" In The Shoes of a Prodigy

If I was in the shoes of the young prodigy, I would be very determined to be the best of my ability especially with all the effort the adults around me would be giving me. I would take advantage of every oppertunity I got as long as I have my freedom. It may be frustrating at times to be told what to do every step of the way but it would be easy considering all of the support. I'd make sure I was successful because there is no reason why I shouldnt. That is the way I would feel if I was in the shoes of a prodigy.

Character Analysis of Shaurice Hayes

The peer that I have decided to write about is someone very close to me and her name is Shaurice Hayes. Me and her have been bestfriends for about a year and a half and we have been dating for almost six months. She is very dedicated to the things she puts her mind to. She has her priorities in the right places. She is beautiful and she has a one of a kind personality in which I love. She knows when to be mature but usually otherwise she is very outgoing and can be immature at times but that is just another thing I love about her. She is very intelligent and is a quick learner. She is also very athletic which is really cool. She always has a smile on her face and her smile can turn anyones bad day into a good one. Shaurice and I have grown very close and are side by side through everthing. Life can be difficult at times but its people like this that is the real beuty of life.

“Everyday Use" Character to Person Comparison Paragraph.

Dee and I are very loving towards our families. A huge difference between us is that Dee is very spiritual, while I am not. She believes strongly in her religion and practices it very often while I have a religion I practice but not as strongly as she does. We both would put our siblings ahead of ourselves and show them love before ourselves. I have never had a house of mine burn down while she has and had to adapt to a house change. I only adapted to house changes by moving but never in a tragedy like her. Dee cares very much about her mother while I care for my family, but not so much my mother. These are things Dee and I have in common and some of the things that make us different.
