"Two Kinds" Mother & Daughter Conflict

In the story "Two Kinds" there is a conflict between a mother and a daughter. The mother is trying to lead her daughter into the right direction by becoming a prodigy while the daughter feels as if she is being forced to do these things. If I had to choose a side I would side with the daughter because I would be very upset with my mother if she had done this to me also. Every young person has the right to decide want they want to be or what they want to do in life and this is why I choose to side with Jing-Mei.

"Two Kinds" In The Shoes of a Prodigy

If I was in the shoes of the young prodigy, I would be very determined to be the best of my ability especially with all the effort the adults around me would be giving me. I would take advantage of every oppertunity I got as long as I have my freedom. It may be frustrating at times to be told what to do every step of the way but it would be easy considering all of the support. I'd make sure I was successful because there is no reason why I shouldnt. That is the way I would feel if I was in the shoes of a prodigy.

Character Analysis of Shaurice Hayes

The peer that I have decided to write about is someone very close to me and her name is Shaurice Hayes. Me and her have been bestfriends for about a year and a half and we have been dating for almost six months. She is very dedicated to the things she puts her mind to. She has her priorities in the right places. She is beautiful and she has a one of a kind personality in which I love. She knows when to be mature but usually otherwise she is very outgoing and can be immature at times but that is just another thing I love about her. She is very intelligent and is a quick learner. She is also very athletic which is really cool. She always has a smile on her face and her smile can turn anyones bad day into a good one. “Everyday Use" Character to Person Comparison Paragraph.

Dee and I are very loving towards our families. A huge difference between us is that Dee is very spiritual, while I am not. She believes strongly in her religion and practices it very often while I have a religion I practice but not as strongly as she does. We both would put our siblings ahead of ourselves and show them love before ourselves. I have never had a house of mine burn down while she has and had to adapt to a house change. I only adapted to house changes by moving but never in a tragedy like her. Dee cares very much about her mother while I care for my family, but not so much my mother. These are things Dee and I have in common and some of the things that make us different.

Everyday Use from Dee's point of view

I am a very spiritual person. The things that I believe in I value very much. My sister and I survived a house fire in the last home we lived in. My sister got burned and now stays at home with our mom. I have a husband who believes in the same beliefs as me. I am pending on what I should change my name to because the name I currently have is of the whites. I am very caring about my family, especially my sister. Me personally, I did not like the home that got burned down and I was kind of glad to see it burn down. I respect my elders and my family.

Every Day

A tradition that is very important to me and my family is our family reunion. It is a gethering of all our family at a park in Yorba Linda, California. We gather every year in the month of September. It is a huge park with tons of things to do. I would pass it on to my next generations because it is a great way to keep a family together and give them a day to look forward to in the year to meet up with their family and have fun. I personally have loved the days our family reunions took place. They were some of the funnest days of my childhood. I would want my next generations to enjoy the same. So this is what I would pass down.

He also is a man who is not certain on where his priorities are when it comes to his relationship. He is a very loving man who is just unsure what should come first to him in life. The purpose of this character is to show the every day struggle within humans to recognize where there main priorities are and to arrange them in the right order according to them. 9/11 Memory

When the tragedy of september eleventh occured I was playing in a flag football game. I was on a team named the Browns and I remember it was a Tuesday because game days were only on Tuesdays. We lost that game by two points but I scored my first touchdown of the season. I did not know about the twin towers until I got home and even then I did not know what to think of it. I honestly felt that it was no big deal because it didn't happen anywhere near me. It was all over the news channels so it was hard to avoid it. Back then it was not a big deal to me but now that I'm older and understand things more I realize how tragic that day was.

Summer Day

One sunny summer day in Anaheim, California there was a kid named Garret. He lived in a rundown apartment with no air conditioning and no heater. During the summers in Anaheim it would get really hot. So with no air conditioning it was hard to be able to relax. Garret had always promised his mom he would get her a nice house when he got a job and take care of her until the day she died. So three years later Garret decided he wanted to pursue a career in baseball and he was one of the better kids on his team. He stuck to his hard work and determination and ended up making it to the majors and making millions of dollars. His first check he bought his mom a house and personalized it to the way she wanted it.

Rat & The Cafe

There was once a mouse named Jaykae. He loved tuna. So one day he had a master plan to steal some tuna from the Cafe down the street, but it was too far of a walk for him. He then began sorting ideas on logical ways to get to the Cafe without walking. He attempted to get in the muffler of a car and jump out when he gets close but he figured it was too dangerous. So he decided to get a ride with a man who rides his bike down the street every day with his son. The man would pedal while his son was in a carriage attached to the back of the bike. Jaykae then jumped in with the man's son and the son fell in love with Jaykae. So he asked his dad if he could keep him and they went to their house and the first meal they gave him was Tuna.

Psychiatric Center for Research on Regressive Tendencies

I am headed to a phschiatric center for taking a walk in the middle of the night. As we are approaching our destination in the car I begin to think what life has came to. How technology has taken over the world. The office pulled me out the car and I seen a huge building that was made of solar panals so that they can receive energy from the sun. Their doors open automatically and the doors had metal detectors to make sure nobody is smuggling in guns. As I walked inside I was expecting to see a secretary but instead their were work robots that speak like humans and think like humans except they do not have emotions. They were there strictly for work. A robot walked me to my small room that I will be staying in. It was full of motion sensors and each of them had a different job. They could tell anything from my heart rate to what I'm thinking. I began to observe everything being that I will be living here from now on.

" Purpose of "The pedestrian"

The purpose of the book is to show imagination of what can happen in the future with the huge growth in use of technology. People will be more lazy and it will affect a huge amount of the population. They will be stuck and glued to their enhanced T.V's and video games. The book is saying that the change in the future can be worse for us. It could change the world. It is also telling the story of a man who was different then the rest of them. They showed what would happen to them. That is the purpose.

Life in 2053

I think that life in 2053 will consist of a lot of technology. I think everything will be enhanced by technology from the range of cars, to lamps, to t.v's, anything and everything will be based around technology. Army weapons will be very dangerous and have double the power of what they do today. Nucleur weapons would be so dangerous that it could blow away a whole continent. By then we will be in the greatest economy U.S.A has ever been part of. It will be heaven that has only been seen to this day in peoples dreams.

Poem Analysis

There are very alike qualities in the poem and the story. In both stories the characters have to make important choices on how they choose to live their life. They have to prioritize their life the way they feel it needs to be. One is stuck with choosing between work and his wife, while the other chooses between work, love, and friends. It is true in reality because some people have to make those hard choices when they have very little time and so many different things they can be doing. Life is full of hard choices and these two stories are perfect examples of that. Life is all about choices and what you make out of them.
